How to update/flash your aPad

THIS FLASH METHOD WORKS ONLY WITH THE 2ND VERSION OF THE APAD (WITH CAMERA).
DO NOT FLASH APAD 1ST VERSION USING THIS METHOD.

1. Download RKAndroidDM.exe and firmware and unpack.
2. Shut down the device.
3. Switch the toggle switch to off and back to on position.
4. While the device is still off, press and hold Menu button till step 7.
5. Connect the device to your computer with USB cable via the lower USB port (still holding Menu button) .
6. Windows will now ask for drivers, browse to the unpacked ffff folder and install.
7. You can release the Menu button once Windows recognizes the device.
8. Run RKandroidDM.exe, “Device found!” should be displayed (if not, repeat steps 4 and 7)
9. click on the “…” button annd browse to the unpacked files, select the file image.img and click OK.
10. Click the ‘Update’ button and wait about 5 minutes for the new rom to be loaded.
A message in Windows XP will indicate success, your device will automatically boot with the new
firmware. You can now unplug the USB cable.
11. You need to calibrate the screen on your device first time you boot.
12. The language is set to Chinese by default, to change the language go to Settings and select the 7th option, on next screen select 1st option,  next screen select desired language.

    I was flashingmy SmartPad CL-ARM M7, with RKAndroid DM v1.2, but in the middle the error occours and the message appears Player not found, and the device is now freezed. I cant do anything, it isnt getting on, not getting detected by the pc also.

    please help.

    This process does not work at all. None of the drivers provided can be installed in Windows 7 64-bit, despite them being labeled as such. If you let windows install the device itself you get “Fastboot Interface (Google USB ID). If you disable automatic driver updates via the device policy manager, you can attempt manual driver installations, but again, none of them properly install, and the device returns a code of 10, stating it cannot start.
    RKAndroidDM 1.2 has never detected my Androd Apad 2.1.

    Update:

    Tried this on XP 32-bit, same results. Impossible to install the drivers, the update tool never detects the tablet. This company is fucking gay.

    I suggest you guys use XP for this upgrade. I have done this several times and it all worked fine. Chances are that you have a different device and need other tools to upgrade. Contact the supplier.
