Today Ramos announced their next Android device, the Ramos W9. It will be powered by Rockchip’s RK2818 and with a 7-inch capacitive touch screen. Not much more information about specs or price have been revealed. I contacted Ramos to find out more and was told the planned released date is mid October. Let’s hope it wont be delayed like the Ramos W7 was and that the price is right.

I have been informed that a new PCB has been produced by the factory which allows two batteries to be used instead of one for extended battery life. The new device will run for about 4-5 hours on one charge compared to 2 hours on one battery. Rest of specs remains the same. I will make a full test of battery once i get the new batch.

Most of you may not know that the popular Rockchip MID called Moonse E7001 (aPad) is not manufactured by Moonse company, further more Moonse have no production what so ever of any of products advertised on their site.

We where fooled like many other who have ordered products from Moonse.
In this post i will explain how i found out that Moonse is one of many fake companies that profile them self’s as manufacturers when in fact they are just resellers and the E7001 is just another made up name for a generic electronic device.

I noticed the screen got a bit brighter so i decided to open up one unit from the old batch and one form the new to check the parts.
The latest batch from the Moonse / aPad manufacturer got minor updates:

New screen from e-king (Made in Taiwan)
Louder speaker (not much)
“iRobot” is removed from the logo at back (looks much better)

I dint find any other differences, the main board, cam and battery remain the same.
